The Dream

It was the realization of a dream Ertis Crouch nursed for 10 years, while managing another local bar. First he found a partner, Beatrice Gomes, an energetic and dynamic former employee. Ertis was impressed with Beatrice’s people skills and natural business savvy. When their search for a suitable location brought them to 6 Portland St, Jovan’s Lounge was born.

The Reality

Jovan’s Lounge opened its doors on March 10, 1990 with only 4,000 square feet and one bar; right from the beginning it was “a great place to meet nice people”.

The History

Jovan’s Lounge soon flourished and gained a solid reputation throughout Southern New England for having a fun and friendly atmosphere. In 1996, they expanded, doubling in size. In 1999, Jovan's Lounge further expanded and renovated and in May 2000 the Multi-Plex was born. Jovan's Multi-Plex is now a bi-level venue with 22,000 square feet to party. The main level features 3 bars and 2 dance floors along with ample space to sit and enjoy the atmosphere. The lower level houses Club Platinum, the hottest new nightclub in New England. Club Platinum is a classy yet comfortable place to unwind at the end of the week. Social satisfaction is guaranteed in this hot spot. Let us host your party for free at Club Platinum which includes invitations, decorations, food, cake and DJ. In April of 2004 the main level opened two new upscale VIP lounges. The VIP lounges inviting décor offers a place of comfort with a superior level of service as well as the finest of champagnes, cognacs and much more.
